AWN 2024 Annual Network Meeting

February 7th & 8th, 2024

By now you’ve probably heard that our Annual Network Meeting is this month! If you haven’t already registered to join. Do so here

Taking place virtually on February 7th & 8th from 1-4pm AST, the Annual Network Meeting will host presentations from our regional and national water partners, facilitated training sessions as well as inter-provincial networking opportunities. Don’t miss a chance to hear all the exciting updates from AWN, including special training on AWN’s exciting new Knowledge Hub!

Love Your River 50-50 Draw

February 1st & 14th, 2024

The Jijuktu’kwejk Watershed Alliance is working hard to restore the Jijuktu’kwejk (Cornwallis) River in the Annapolis Valley – and we can’t do it without community support from generous people like you who love the river.  We hope that you buy tickets and feel the love we are sending you!

Ticket sales from this draw will help fund the summer restoration and conservation program- including research and water samples, habitat assessment, stream restoration, and it also supports young biologists and ecologists build their career.

All tickets will be sold online via the Rafflebox Platform. One winning ticket shall be drawn using a random number generator to win the grand prize: 50% of the total jackpot.


February 17th, 2024

Come one, Come All to the free winter fishing derby hosted by ARA in partnership with the Inland Fisheries division of the N.S. Dept. of Fisheries & Aquaculture at Gillis Lake in Pinevale, Antigonish County.

Free registration opens at 10am, there will be a free BBQ and hot chocolate, participation prizes for youth under 14 and free entry into either a youth or adult raffle draw. We will have pre-drilled holes in the ice marked for participants and some spare jigging rods on hand for anyone who wants to give ice fishing a try, but doesn’t want to purchase the gear.

This derby is a family-friendly event and a way for the ARA to engage with the community and to encourage all age groups to participate in sportfishing and outdoor recreation.

Winter Hike at the Winter River Trail

February 17th, 2024

Join the Winter River-Tracadie Bay Watershed Association and the City of Charlottetown, PE for a hike of the beautiful Winter River trail February 17th at 10:00 AM

A limited number of snowshoes and ice cleats will be available. Hot chocolate and treats will be provided!

Meet at the Winter River trail parking lot (end of East Suffolk Rd). We can’t wait to see you there!
